Mark your calendars for an extraordinary celebration as the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) makes a splash on the global stage! From September 12 to 14, the iconic Lincoln Center in New York will transform into a vibrant tapestry of Indian culture.
The 'नीता मुकेश अंबानी कल्चरल सेंटर (NMACC)' will host a weekend event at New York's Lincoln Center from September 12 to 14, showcasing Indian art, music, dance, fashion, and handicrafts. Led by Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani, the event marks NMACC's international debut, aiming to present India's cultural heritage on a global stage through performances, fashion showcases, culinary experiences, and interactive workshops. The weekend will feature performances by Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, and Rishabh Sharma, along with a premiere of 'The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation,' and will also include free activities in Damrosch Park such as yoga, panel discussions, dance workshops, and a crafts marketplace.
The three-day cultural festival is spearheaded by Nita Ambani. The festival aims to introduce Indian art, music, dance, fashion, and handicrafts to a global audience.
This event signifies the international debut of NMACC (नीता मुकेश अंबानी कल्चरल सेंटर). The center, which opened in Mumbai in 2023, was envisioned as a multifaceted cultural hub.
Nita Ambani spent over a decade bringing the center to life, drawing inspiration from institutions like The Met in New York and the Sydney Opera House. The center celebrates a wide range of artistic and cultural heritage, from traditional Indian dance and music to international visual art exhibitions.
The New York edition of the NMACC Weekend will commence with 'Grand स्वागत,' an event exclusively for invited guests. It will feature a Swadesh fashion showcase curated by designer Manish Malhotra, highlighting the diversity of Indian attire. Chef Vikas Khanna, a Michelin-star recipient, will present regional Indian cuisine.
Musical artists Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, and classical musician Rishabh Sharma are scheduled to perform. NMACC's production, 'The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation,' directed by Feroz Abbas Khan, will have its international premiere at Lincoln Center. This musical aims to depict India's 7,000-year cultural journey through music, dance, and stage design.
Damrosch Park will be transformed into a cultural center with activities open to the public. The activities include morning yoga sessions with Eddie Stern, panel discussions on cricket, Bollywood dance workshops with Shiamak Davar, and a 'Swadesh Marketplace' featuring crafts from Indian artisans.
“संस्कृति लोगों को जोड़ती है, उनके बीच समझदारी और संवेदनशीलता बढ़ाती है। मैं न्यूयॉर्क में भारत की झलक और उसकी 5,000 वर्षों की कहानियों को लाने के लिए बेहद उत्साहित हूं।”
